I also actually like that it has a AA battery I’m tired of wearing out Li-Po cells when a single $1 battery can give me hundreds of hours of usage. I was looking at the Basilisk X Hyperspeed, because it has the same high-speed connectivity as the more expensive ones, but also supports Bluetooth. Bluetooth does definitely appeal to me as a feature for the “now”, but wired is my primary standard for gaming. Hence why I like the option of wired or Bluetooth my work laptop only has 2 USB-A ports, and since we’re a Mac-based company, any future replacement they give me would be USB-C only. Primarily for IT work (lots of macro triggering), but the idea is that if my home mouse (a 2015 Mamba) breaks beyond repair, this would replace it as a home gaming thing. The primary stand-out features I'm after are a minimalistic/professional design (nothing that looks like a Michael Bay Transformer), a price tag under $80 CAD, a moderately large body (fingertip grip = bad, claw grip = not ideal, palm grip = best), 6-7+ programmable buttons, some form of wired/wireless hybrid operability, and with Bluetooth being a "nice to have". If neither of these are highly-recommended choices, I'm happy to hear competing alternatives. Less ergonomic size (would have to use claw grip). 6 button design, when I'd rather have 7+. 3-way connectivity: USB, 2.4 GHz, or Bluetooth (frees up a laptop port). Wired or 2.4 GHz connectivity eats a laptop USB port either way. 7 button design (the two on top are particularly handy for my purposes). Here's my point-for-point breakdown of what I've read, so far. But on the other hand, I move around all the time for work with a Mac laptop, and so the Bluetooth of the Corsair Harpoon Wireless has some strong appeal.

On my PC at home, I have the Razer Mamba 2012, and so I know for sure that I like the ergonomics and the button layout the only thing I'd be losing with the 2018 version is the RGB side panels (which I don't care about). Cash is tight, so I'm trying to keep it below $80 CAD (~$65 USD). It was a real workhorse for me, and I got used to the form factor and the button customizability. I've recently lost my old mainstay that I used for work, the Razer Imperator 2012.
